Pep Talk

Some days I wake up and I need a pep talk.

I want someone else to give me one.

Why can’t I be the one to pep talk me?

(this might be me this morning)

If you need a pep talk…here’s a place to start (and the one I wrote to myself today):

You’ve got what it takes.

You may not think you can do this day.

You can.

You can decide to make this a great day.

The key is in your thoughts.

You may have woken up this morning feeling super tired.

Those are your thoughts.

You can decide you feel great and that this is going to be a great day.

Everyone else is sleeping still and you may wish you could still be sleeping.

Instead, enjoy the quiet. Be glad you get this time to yourself.

You may be dreading what’s coming today, only because you feel tired.

Again. Your thoughts. You can change that.

Smile, right now.

Yes, to yourself, smile.

Say: “You are going to do awesome things today.”

Put your hands on your hips.

Assume your Super Woman pose.

There you go.

Who you are matters.


What you think matters.

What someone else thinks about you doesn’t matter.

They get to have their thoughts and you get to have yours.

Think some good stuff.

Think some stuff that makes you feel great about you.

You are courageous.

There is light inside you, bursting forth.

No one else is like you in the entire universe.

Show up.

Be your best self.

If you’re tempted to not do that workout, remember:

You feel great when you get your body moving.

In fact, if you’re tempted to sit on the couch…

Remind yourself that you get depressed and discouraged when you keep sitting there.

Get up. Get moving.

Those endorphins will start running around like little hopped up toddlers…

You’ll feel energized and happier.

You’ll feel like you can get stuff done.

Your brain chemistry will switch gears.

Things will feel more possible.

That’s what you want.

You don’t want to sit on the couch feeling miserable!

You want to feel like things are possible.

You want to feel like you’ve got what it takes to make things happen.

You DO have what it takes!

You want to feel like you’ve got patience and the ability to change your thoughts

No matter what your circumstances.

Change your thoughts and you change this moment and this day.

You’ve got this.

You can decide what this day is going to be.

Something amazing is going to happen today.

Get ready for it.

Great pep talk.
