No More Waiting

No More Waiting

I have been trying to grow peonies for many, many years. At least 15!!
Every time, I fail.
I still don’t have peonies.
I realized, I may be thinking I have to EARN the peonies.
Have you done this?
On some subconscious level, you think you can’t have something unless you’ve earned it?
You are not alone.
It’s totally what I was doing with these peonies and not realizing it!
I was thinking…
I have to do, do, do to get them.
For some reason, I’ve thought the only way I could have them is by growing them, cajoling them, trying again and again.
Until last week.
A friend of mine was showing these gorgeous peonies she had, on her stories.
I messaged her, told them how beautiful they were, assumed she had grown them on her farm, and said how impressed I was she had grown such amazing peonies.
Her answer:
“I didn’t grow these. My sister sent them to me!”
My mind was blown.
What?!?
You didn’t have to work to grow those for 15+ years in order to have them?
What is this magic???
I had never considered that I could just order myself some peonies!
I didn’t even know that was a thing!
Other flowers? Yes.
Roses? Yes.
Tulips? Yes.
Sunflowers? Yes.
Never once did I think this applies to peonies.
I feel like these peonies are an example of what I’ve resisted.
I’ve believed I had to earn peonies.
I didn’t know they could be super easy to have.
Today, I said ‘I surrender’ the idea that I have to grow peonies.
(NOTE: I literally have some half dead ones, trying to grow, yet again, in front of my house right now.)
No more trying to grow them.
I can have them right now.
No more waiting until I’ve proved I can grow them from scratch.
Why have I waited 15+ years to deserve them?
No more waiting.
They are on their way to me
I ordered them.
They will be here tomorrow.
Every time I think about them, I get all giddy.
Just the idea that they are actually on the way makes me smile.
I keep telling people about my peonies and showing them the photo of what they will be like when they get here.
The joy can happen without ‘earning’ them.
You don’t have to do the work first in order to have the fun or the joy.
You can have the joy and the fun and skip the ‘earning.’
What have you been thinking you have to earn?
What if you kicked that idea to the curb?
Surrendered it?
What if you made it super easy to have it?
If you want help figuring out how to make it easier, I can help.
