More Love For Me

More Love For Me

I love myself.

This is not a phrase I’ve lived my life saying.

Instead, I’ve judged myself.

Wished I hadn’t said what I said to that person yesterday.

Relived again and again what I did years ago.

Beat myself up for not being a better friend or more lovable or more like what people want.

I’ve done a lot in my life to try to get love.

I’ve hustled for love and acceptance.

I’ve worked hard to prove myself.

To whom?

I wasn’t even sure. Me? Someone else?

Recently, I’m realizing…

Loving myself helps me love and accept others…

Keeps me from judging…

Curbs my expectations of the way I think other people should be.

It makes me want to love myself more.

Because I’m worth that kind of love.

Jesus said: love others like you love yourself.

Which means you love yourself FIRST.

We get this so backwards as humans and people who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Jesus never said: love other people and if there’s any love left over…THEN love yourself.

He said:

Love yourself first so you can know what it’s like…

To truly, deeply love someone when you know every single thing about them…

Every thought, every feeling, every action, every result.

Happy and sad.

Good and bad.

Positive and negative.

Whatever all of that even means.

When you can love yourself even though you know ever single one of these things…

This is true love.

I’m working on loving myself this way.

No matter what I say, or think, or feel, or do…

I say:

I love myself.

Again and again and again and again.

Everyday. All day.

I allow myself to feel the expansion in my chest that makes my heart feel like it’s growing, filling up…

I allow myself to feel that feeling for ME.

It’s what my Heavenly Parents feel for me, every moment of my existence.

I’m here for it.

I know you can love yourself like this, too.

Are you like me?

Have you wondered:

If you love yourself enough?

What life would be like if you knew you loved yourself?

If you’re ready to stop beating yourself up and start living a life where you truly deeply love yourself and think you’re awesome…the dark parts and the light parts…

It’s time for us to chat.

Get on my calendar! I want to talk to you!

Go from beating yourself up on the daily to more love, more grace, more openness, more awesomeness moment to moment to moment.
