“I got you, Boo”
Honestly, I’ve *never* uttered these words out loud in my life.
I said them to myself, whispered them, this morning.
And took myself completely by surprise!
Making me laugh and do a little dance.
I was thinking about how grateful I am to myself for taking notes about a consult I did *months* ago.
To myself, I said:
“You are so awesome. I can’t even tell you how grateful I am you did that.”
“These notes are the bomb diggity (another thing I’ve *never* said out loud) and they are helping me so much today!”
“You wrote what worked, what didn’t work, and what you would do next time. These are GOLD!!”
Then I thought forward to my ‘future me self’ (who is helping people left and right).
I told her:
“I got you, Boo.
I’m showing up today so you can be you.”
To me today, I said:
“I’ve got you, too.”
This is how you love yourself.
This is how you have your own back.
This is how you believe in yourself.
This is how you approve of and talk to yourself.
This is how you can live a magical life…
Now, yesterday, and five years from now.
This is how you don’t have to wait for someone else’s approval or compliments.
I didn’t used to talk to myself like this.
I do now, though.
I used to hope people would notice how awesome I was.
I used to doubt myself until someone else would say I was offering legit great stuff.
I used to wait for approval.
This is all for you, too, Boo.
(I don’t know if I’ll ever say this phrase to you in real life…the Boo part…but I’m saying it to you here. 🙂
If you’d like to make yourself feel awesome and
Genuinely, say helpful, kind things to yourself you actually believe…
And stop waiting for someone else to tell you how stinkin fantastic you are…
I can help.
