I’m not a ‘sit on the floor in lotus’ kind of meditator

I’m not a ‘sit on the floor in lotus’ kind of meditator

I’m not a ‘sit on the floor in lotus’ kind of meditator.
I get comfortable on a quiet, soft couch in my house…
Lights off, music coming through my headphones…
Blanket around me while I
Breathe in
I say:
I love myself
Breathe out all the the other thoughts attempting to crowd in
Breathe in
I love myself
Breathe out all the other thoughts
Breathe in
This has become one of my favorite times of the day
I slow my thoughts even more
Breathe in
“I”
Breathe out
Breathe in
“Love”
Breathe out
Breathe in
“Myself”
Breathe out
My goal isn’t for my mind to become completely still
Or to get rid of all my thoughts.
I have a human brain
It has 64,000 thoughts a day
My aim is to remind myself more times a day
I love myself
Especially at the beginning and the end
Repetitions of the thoughts I want to believe about myself
Eventually reaches a tipping point
I only need 51% of my thoughts to be
I love myself
Some nights,
I take my shoes and socks off
I go outside
Stand in the grass
A blanket wrapped around me
I imagine a conduit of God’s love and inspiration and light and awesomeness
Coming down into the top of my head
Spreading into my body
Reaching down into the earth and back up into my body again
The light swirls in my chest
And then bursts out into the world
All of God’s love and my love
Going out to my family
My clients
The world
I breathe
I smile
I open my eyes.
And so it is.
