Be Patient

Be Patient

Be patient. Your HECK YEAH is there.
It’s waiting for you.
I promise your HECK YEAH exists.
I would see other people with the HECK YEAH about themselves and I wondered where mine was.
If I can create it, you can, too.
It’s not difficult. It can be uncomfortable, though.
It takes listening to yourself.
It takes practice.
It takes quitting (I meant to type quieting but I think quitting is even better) all the other voices and rules you’ve been listening to.
It takes a willingness to not get it right and then realize it’s not quite a HECK YEAH without getting judgey on yourself.
(This process is how I got to this awesome HECK YEAH outfit this morning)
In the past, I would often beat myself up for not getting things right, not being the best, not doing better.
I would get annoyed that I didn’t ‘love myself enough’ after the years of work I felt I had put into all of it.
What’s really happening, is that I do love myself…
There are just parts of me the love hasn’t reached yet…
Loving yourself is what God wants us to do BEFORE we love our neighbor because…
If the way we love ourselves is to beat ourselves up, say mean things, and be super judgey of who we are…
Things aren’t looking good for our relationship with ourselves OR our neighbor.
What I’ve realized is this…
Loving ourselves isn’t a place we arrive.
It’s a thing we understand more deeply and
At the same time, on newer and higher levels.
We come to know our divinity more and more
Which reaches into the dark places our love and compassion have not yet discovered
The depth comes as we allow ourselves to be with the 50/50 of who we are
We allow our humanness (most likely this is all the stuff that annoys you about yourself)
Without judging it and belittling it and wishing it would go away.
This is why Jesus loves us so much and…
Why he perfectly understands us.
Jesus didn’t resist his humanness.
He didn’t resist the dark and hard emotions
He welcomed them
He knew they were important to his humanness.
He knew he had to allow himself to experience sorrow, heartbreak, loneliness, anger
So that he could know and appreciate compassion, understanding, love
Being willing to be with and allow and experience every emotion without judgement was the only way for Jesus to fully experience life
It’s also the only way we can fully experience life.

If you’d like to feel more HECK YEAH in your life and love your humanness (aka: all the stuff that annoys you about yourself), it’s time to sign up for a consult with me and find out how coaching with me, we can create your HECK YEAH life.
