Are You An Imposter?

Are You An Imposter?

Imposter syndrome gets a bad wrap sometimes. Often, we think only one gender (usually women) feels it or that we shouldn’t be feeling it.

The little voice in our head says, “Who do you think you are? No one is going to listen to you, book with you, buy from you…

And makes us feel like a fraud, fake, not real…

The truth is we feel like an imposter because we are human.

I love Tara Mohr’s sharing of the Hebrew definitions of fear because I think they can go with imposter syndrome.

Pachad fear is the imagined outcomes your primitive brain brings up to keep you from moving forward.

Yirah fear is when we suddenly find ourselves in ‘possession of considerably more energy than we are used to. And the feeling we feel when we are in sacred ground.’

Moving into a space of not knowing, stepping into a place bigger than we’ve been experiencing would….

Of course, make us feel some fear because it’s an energy we aren’t used to.

What if it’s okay to feel like an imposter on the way to becoming who we are meant to be?

We don’t know what we are doing. We aren’t supposed to know what we are doing.

What if it’s okay to be in that uncomfortable place of not knowing?

What if we decided it was normal and not something to avoid or resist?

That’s why we have goals. That’s why we step into bigger arenas. Because we are always becoming.

Once we have become those things those goals are no longer goals because we have become them.

And so we step into more becoming, a new space of bigger energy, a place that doesn’t quite feel like us, until it does.

Here we are at the end of one month and about to begin another.

If you’re feeling that imposter syndrome or finding that no matter what you do you keep not hitting your goals…

I can totally help you.

I’ve been there. I know what it feels like.

I also know how to move through it. I know how to stop falling short of goals.

I know why you keep finding yourself in the same place. I know why that imposter feeling keeps popping up.

Let’s talk.

You’ll get to share with me what’s not working, where you’re at, where you’d like to be.

I will listen. I want to hear about what you’ve been through and where you are.

After that…

I’ll share with you why those things haven’t been working, lay a foundational plan for you and,

Share what it would look like to be supported in making your goals a reality instead of always feeling just a little out of reach.
